Seantrel Henderson, top-ranked 2010 recruit, to sign Thursday with USC
2010-03-15 10:05:21

All things considered, it's incredibly difficult to not be impressed with the work that Lane Kiffin's staff has done in assembling the no-doubt-about-it best recruiting class in the country. The finishing touch was added today; The Pioneer Press reports that Seantrel Henderson, an offensive lineman deemed to be the consensus #1 recruit in the nation, will officially sign his letter of intent to USC on Thursday:

Cretin-Derham Hall senior offensive lineman Seantrel Henderson on Thursday will sign a letter of intent to play college football at the University of Southern California.

Henderson, the top-ranked recruit in the nation for his class, had committed to USC on Feb. 2 in front of a national television audience in New York, but waited to officially sign. USC is under investigation by the NCAA, but Sean Henderson, Seantrel's dad, said today his son is committed to the Trojans.

Seantrel Henderson had been waiting to see if USC would be sanctioned, but he made a final decision on Sunday night and confirmed it this morning.

"We are definitely, 100-percent USC,'' Sean Henderson said.

Henderson, a 6-foot-8, 335-pounder, helped power the St. Paul-based private school to the Class AAAAA football championship last fall. He also is a standout post player on Cretin-Derham Hall's basketball team that plays Tartan in the Section 4AAAA semifinals Tuesday night.

With the ending of the second trimester last week, Sean Henderson said, his son is academically eligible to play college football.

The future certainly looks bright at Southern California. Fight on Trojans!
